Kavya Pyro Oils Pvt., Ltd is a private Limited Company formed in the year 2011. The company has been promoted by two entrepreneur’s namely Ashok Agarwal & Anita Agarwal for the processing of waste plastics to produce Fuel Oil by the process of Pyrolysis.

ASHOK AGARWAL is a Chemical Engineer with a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Madras and having over 40 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of chemical process industries out of which 28 years as an NRI and Managing Director of a USD200 million turnover chemical process complex located in Nigeria ,West Africa.
ANITA AGARWAL is a History graduate from the University of Madras with over 15 years of experience as a Senior Human Resources Executive at Tinplate Company Of India Ltd., Jamshedpur- A TATA Group Company.
The entire design and engineering of the 10MT/day Plastic pyrolysis plant based on established and proven technology was done by Ashok Agarwal and all reactors & other process equipment’s were locally fabricated.
The Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) gave their `Consent to install` in July 2013 with a time limit of 12 months to complete the installation. The plant & machinery were installed and tested by July, 2014 and `Consent to Operate` was granted by GPCB in August, 2014.
Between August, 2014 and July, 2015 the plant operated satisfactorily on waste plastics obtained free of cost from the paper mills at Vapi.
However, the waste papers from the paper mills had serious drawbacks. (1) The waste was wet and contained 150% water. (2) The mixed waste plastics had fillers to the extent of 40%. Resulting in very low useful product recovery (3) Since transportation was to our account we were transporting less of useful material and more of not so useful material, water.

Therefore, this source of raw material proved unviable even though the raw material was free of cost.
We, therefore, moved to locate dry waste suppliers near our location i.e. Palej, dist. Bharuch, Ahmedabad & Vadodara in Gujarat.
Amul, Mother dairy the major dairy industries and other plastic scrap dealers were identified through which we managed to get fairly good quality scrap plastics at a reasonable price. However, due to the steep fall in international price of crude oil which dropped from USD 140/barrel to USD 40/barrel by the time our plant was commissioned, all petroleum products prices dropped. Consequently, the demand for plastic /tire pyro oils which is a substitute to Light Diesel Oil also dropped significantly.
In September, 2015 an entrepreneur from Vadodara visited our plant and was impressed with the installation. He had access to good quality of PP/PE/HDPE/HDPP scrap plastics free of cost and wanted to install a similar plant at his site.
When he was told that we could do contract processing for him he was reluctant. Rather, he wanted a complete plant installed at his chosen location. He was told that it would take 12 months to design fabricate and install a new plant to which they declared that they cannot wait and requested that we sell the existing plant and machinery only and not the company to enable him dismantle , shift and install the plant at his site. He also declared that he has adequate technical staff to do the installation using the manuals that we could provide and only in dire circumstances would they need our personnel involvement.
Since the offer was attractive we sold the equipment’s to the person who is a prominent scrap dealer in Vadodara. .
Operating the plant for over 12 months continuously gave us sufficient insight into minor issues and time to carry out the changes in the process and equipment’s to further improve safety and performance.
WE TAKE PRIDE IN DECLARING THAT OUR COMPANY WAS THE ONLY COMPANY LEGALLY OPERATING A PYROLYSIS PLANT IN GUJARAT UNDER A LICENCE GRANTED BY THE GUJARAT POLLUTION CONTROL BOARD.
Mr. Ashok Agarwal's article on plastic pyrolysis based on hands down experience gained at our Kavya Pyro Oil Pvt. Ltd., `Plant was published by The Institution of Engineers (India) in their journal titled “Make in India to Made in India” Volume- 2 2017.
Mr. Agarwal is a registered Chartered Engineer Reg.No.004726 ( India), a M. Tech in Chemical Engineering and life member of `the Institution of Engineers (India)` as well as Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers.
He has the technical knowledge & experience for complete design, engineering, installing and operation of continuous chemical process plants including Plastic pyrolysis plants.
Depending on what the client desires we can either assist in identifying reputed and proven suppliers of 5 -10 MT Continuous Plastic Pyrolysis Plants on turn key basis or provide consultancy services to ensure that the plant they prefer to buy from any supplier meets all desired safety and operating efficiency standards.
